Pick a race and answer questions about the issues, plus a few about you, such as your ZIP code and age range. Choose Between compares your answers with what each featured candidate has said and done on the public record, then shows your compatibility with each one and where you agree and differ. The quiz is free, and no account or name is needed.
No. A Choose Between match shows how closely your answers line up with a candidate's public positions on the questions in that race. It is a comparison, not a recommendation, an endorsement or a prediction, and how you vote is always your decision.
Counts and splits are calculated from quiz responses and public data. They may be delayed or incomplete. These numbers are not polls, surveys or election forecasts, and they do not measure public opinion. They are not voting advice.
Our editors choose the candidates in each matchup, usually two, and often the two leading ones. Sometimes we look back at a past race or ahead to a possible one. We may add, change or remove races and matchups at any time. Leaving a candidate out is not a judgment about that candidate.
Candidate positions come from a candidate's public words or records, such as a vote or an official statement. If a campaign sends us its answers, we may show them as that candidate's position. We use AI tools to help find sources, and a member of our team reviews every position before it is published. After you take a quiz, your Compatibility Report shows where each position comes from, with its source linked. Positions can and do change, so please check the source before relying on one. Our Guiding Principles explain how we work.
See something wrong? Use "Request a correction" on any candidate profile or email corrections@choosebetween.us. Include the page link, the position, and a link to a public source. We may not be able to reply to every request. Once we verify a correction, we will update the page as quickly as we can.
No. Choose Between is run by Choose Between, LLC, an independent company in Colorado, and is not affiliated with any candidate, campaign or party. Paid political ads are labeled and kept apart from candidate positions and matches, and no advertiser can change the questions or how matches are calculated.
Each matchup features two candidates, and we choose them. Not every candidate on the ballot appears, and leaving one out is not a judgment about them. More under "How we pick races and matchups."
No. Nobody can pay to change your results, the questions or a candidate's positions. Paid political ads are labeled and kept visually separate from your results.
