Politics are deeply personal. Typical surveys can make you feel like you’re being slotted into a generic box, or pushed toward an agenda. We built Choose Between to challenge those norms, and measure what others don’t. No partisan pitch. No account required. Just a clear picture of where you align.

Three steps.

21 questions.

Twenty-one questions across seven policy areas and a few questions about how you think, how you live, and what matters to you. They’re real questions, not poll jargon. Something sticks out as doubly-important to you? Double-down on the responses that matter most. Three minutes, maybe four.

Candidate breakdown.

We don’t just show you your top match. We show you how you align with every single candidate running in your race, ranked, scored, and broken down by category. Because the point isn’t who you match with most. It’s understanding the real distance between you and each person asking for your vote.

Compatibility insights.

Your Compatibility Report isn’t a test score. It’s a full breakdown: which policies align, which don’t, where you sit on each category relative to other voters near you, and your voter archetype. It’s time well spent. Keep your answers to yourself, or share what resonates.

The questions.

Our questions are timely and intentional. Give it a try, and see what other voters are saying right now, too.

Choose Between

Compatibility.
Are you serious?

“Compatibility” is top of mind when you’re searching for many things, like love. Why shouldn’t this extend to people who are making important decisions that impact your life?

With Choose Between, your compatibility with a candidate is a vector, a measurement across distinct categories, from healthcare to education, to how you think about safety and security. You’re not one number. Neither is the person running for office.

The point isn’t to reduce a person to a percentage. The point is to make the shape of your alignment visible. You might be 82% aligned overall, but 40% on the environment and 95% on education. That distance matters. That’s what our Compatibility Report reveals.

Can you be 100% compatible with anything, a relationship, a candidate, a product? Unlikely. Finding your perfect match is often about embracing your differences. We highlight those as a feature, not a bug.

What we measure.

Here’s what goes into your score.

Your answers.

Every answer you give maps to several categories. We use a weighted scoring system that accounts for the fact that not every question carries equal weight. Some differentiate candidates more sharply than others, and we weight those accordingly.

Double downs.

Press and hold on any question to signal this one matters more to you. Your Double Downs increase the weight of those answers when we calculate your compatibility. It’s optional, but there when you feel strongly, and need to make a point!

Location.

Voter issues in California are vastly different than issues in Colorado, Texas, Tennessee and New York. Your location lets us factor in regional priorities, hot-button issues, and the candidates on your ballot.

Questions

Things you might be wondering.

Do I need an account?

No. You can take the quiz and get your full report without signing up. We don’t ask for your email unless you want to save your results and come back to them later.

Is this partisan?

No. Every question is written to avoid loaded language and partisan framing, and we test our questions against voters across the political spectrum. The algorithm doesn’t know which party a candidate belongs to when scoring your alignment.

How long does this actually take?

About three minutes if you move quickly, five if you think carefully. You can pause and come back as long as you don’t close the tab.

Do you sell my data?

We don’t sell personal data. We do share anonymized, aggregated insights, things like “18% of matched voters list healthcare as their top issue” with journalists and researchers. You as an individual are never identifiable in any of that data.

How are candidate positions sourced?

Every candidate position in our system traces back to a public source. We start with what the candidate has said themselves: campaign websites, official position papers, public statements, debate answers, and (for incumbents) their actual voting record. Each position is reviewed before publication, and candidates can request corrections through our contact form. We’re a non-partisan tool. Compatibility scores are a balanced reflection of publicly available information.

YOUR CHOICE MATTERS.

Three minutes. Twenty-one questions. Candidates ranked and explained. No account. No partisan pitch. Just insight into where you align, or don’t.
